day 2

Pick up at the hotel and departure for Venaria Reale and La Madria park

Venaria Reale: it is the only Italian municipality, together with Ceresole Reale, to be able to boast the Royal title and a civic coat of arms with high heraldic elements, it can boast on its territory the presence of more than one Savoia residence: the 16th-17th century Royal Palace of Venaria Reale and the 19th-century Royal Apartments of Borgo Castello, located in the La Mandria Regional Park.

The Theatrum Statuum Sabaudiae is the monumental work that illustrated the magnificence of Savoia’s residences and possessions throughout Europe at the end of the 17th century. The best of them, the Venarìa Reale palace, a complex of rare elegance built in the same years and with the same ambitions as the Versailles palace. Alongside the construction of the impressive Savoia residence, the village, the beautiful gardens and the Mandria were designed. In fact, Venarìa Reale, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was not just a simple palace, because, with the construction of the village, the gardens and the large park of the Mandria, it became a satellite settlement of the magnificent Turin.

The Basilica is an eighteenth-century monumental church that towers above Turin. Climbing up the dome allows you to enjoy a unique view of the city. In the basement you can visit the Royal Tombs of the Savoia and in the adjacent convent the rooms of the Royal Apartment and the King's Hall. The Basilica was founded at the behest of Duke Vittorio Amedeo II, following a vow made to the Madonna delle Grazie in 1706. The crypt, containing the Royal Tombs of Casa Savoia, was built at the behest of King Vittorio Amedeo III.
